Attorney Miller Evelina Anna Miller works on all aspects of family law cases at the Miller Family Law Group. While attending law school at Western State College of Law, Attorney Miller was a certified law student at the Western State University Legal Clinic as well as a clerk for the Honorable John Watson of the California Superior Court in Santa Ana, California. In addition, she has experience in child support issues working at the Family Law Facilitator by serving Orange County’s low-income community and assisting in the resolution of Department of Child Support Services cases. In addition to her Juris Doctor Degree, Ms. Miller also holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and criminal justice from California State University, Fullerton. Ms. Miller interest in family and domestic violence issues is shown through her affiliation with various charitable and civic organizations such as Community Service Programs, Inc. and participating in the March for Hunger through her high school, St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, California. Ms. Miller is a member of the Orange County Young Lawyers Division where she serves on the community outreach committee. In addition, Ms. Miller belongs to the California State Bar Association Family Law Section, Orange County Bar Association Family Law Section, Orange County Women Lawyers Association, and American Bar Association. Ms. Miller's passion to help people drives her to advocate for clients during one of the most difficult times of their lives. She understands that every client that comes to the Miller Family Law Group is going through a difficult time in their life, and using her best efforts she is committed to guide and provide each client a quicker and smoother experience in the legal and divorce process. Attorney Miller works on all aspects of family law and criminal law cases at the Miller Family Law Group. While completing his studies at Western State University College of Law, Mr. Miller held clerking positions at the Orange County District Attorney's Office and in the legal research department at the Orange County Superior Court writing recommended rulings for five (5) separate bench officers. After receiving the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in 2006, Mr. Miller was offered employment [by his law school professor] at Xanthus Sports, a sports marketing and media relations group representing athletes and sports teams, including, but not limited to the San Francisco 49ers, the Oakland Raiders, USA Skiing, USA Snowboarding, Ray Lewis and Reggie Bush. During his time at Western State, Mr. Miller was actively involved in both moot court, and Law Review. In 2007, Mr. Miller authored a critique of the California criminal and evidence statutes and the resulting negative impact of those statutes on victims of domestic violence, entitled The Silent Abuser; California's Promotion of Misdemeanor Domestic Violence; an article that was subsequently published in the Western State Law Review [34 W. St. U. L. Rev. 173 (2006-2007)]. Since its' publication, Mr. Miller's article has been cited and listed as an authority in an amicus curiae brief filed with the United States Supreme Court in the case of Dwayne Giles v. State of California, 554 U.S. 353 (2008), which was authored by The Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project [an organization focused on the empowerment of victims of domestic violence], California Partnership to End Domestic Violence [an organization aimed at protecting the safety of and justice of domestic violence victims and their families], and Legal Momentum [The Women's Legal Defense and Education Fund]. Since becoming an attorney in 2007, Mr. Miller has dedicated himself to the practice of family law and criminal law; he has extensive experience, and has litigated complex cases. Mr. Miller believes that it is his responsibility and duty, as an attorney, to provide each client with a specific, clear, and honest picture of what to expect in their pending case and to, subsequently, maintain open lines of communication in order to maintain the relationship of trust between the attorney and client. This type of communication permits each client to prepare for and cope with the emotional turns of family law cases, and permits each client to make informed decisions as to matters that, undoubtedly, will have a drastic effect on the client's life, and the lives of their family members.
